Because, “there will always be more good ideas than there is capacity to execute,” (The 4 Disciplines of Execution), at ARC we work collaboratively across divisions to refine/revise/re-prioritize the Product Development plan to meet the needs of our customers.


We are experimenting with this forum as a space for ARC teammates to share ideas.


Federal Way list of suggestions

Federal Way asked to meet to discusss SchoolPace feedback. Also passed to Megan Rodenhiser and Shadonna via email. Was asked to add here.

  • Word Banks:

    • A place to enter miscues next to word (errors are not always related to phonics column pattern/skill)

    • A way to look at word bank data for multiple students to determine common needs for small groups

    • A way to track which power words students are LEARNING vs. which ones they have mastered. (in support of several teachers that work with the same students)

    • When they click “mark all previously checked words” it saves/records a new word check, but they just want to view the words only. If it has to save, they asked for an option to delete the erroneous check. I mentioned the small checkmarks below the words are present when you open the word bank but they said they are too small.

    • Auto flood points for words known – they mentioned between Transition to and Entry teachers need to re-set the drop down for points.

    • A way to check off which parts of a goal students have mastered vs. which they are still working on. (ex: 1B vowel teams - possible to gray out the ones the student has shown mastery with - without opening the vowel teams screener?)


  • Cursor float over tips to build teacher knowledge (I asked where they envisioned this and the items they called out were Power Goals – just adding some tips for teachers).

  • Hyperlinks to specific MLL toolkit lessons (since this toolkit is free anyway)

  • Evidence – a way to view all evidence or export all evidence entered for a student for the year in one place

    • If not the above, a way to select/tag which evidence appears in the IRLA Organizer.

  • Notes – They were mentioning they need to retype all of their evidence in Notes so they can easily find them and everyone can see them. I think their main issue here is they want to make sure teachers in future years can see all evidence since evidence does not carry over from year to year. They just want evidence easily found this year and in future years.

  • Notification when new note is added (supports collaboration) - they wanted the ability to tag a teacher so they get an alert about evidence or a note that was added when they next login to SchoolPace.
