Because, “there will always be more good ideas than there is capacity to execute,” (The 4 Disciplines of Execution), at ARC we work collaboratively across divisions to refine/revise/re-prioritize the Product Development plan to meet the needs of our customers.
We are experimenting with this forum as a space for ARC teammates to share ideas.
From Emily Berube at Sau 67:
When a classroom teacher (say first grade) gets her new roster in schoolpace, often she would like to be able to see the last skills check (lets say 1 Blue phonics check) done with the child. She can look at the child's history, which will give her the total number, but she cannot actually open the skills check to see which particular items the child had mastered or not.
You showed me that with my administrator access, it is actually possible for me to change the year in schoolpace and go back to the child's previous classroom. A classroom teacher can't do that because the first grade teacher wouldn't have access to the Kindergarten teacher's class.
With teachers being so committed to school pace data, they're asking to "hit the ground running" and for many of them, seeing those skills checks (particularly in K-2) is a big part of that. In an ideal world, many of them would love if schoolpace was just sort of continuous, so when I meet that First Grader their schoolpace already says "1B" and I can access all their dated previous IRLA skills checks from previous years. There would be no "starting over" each year and needing to access history.
From Madison Cantey, teacher, at Florence 03:
please keep data from previous years in IRLA. for example, the power word checks and letter names/sounds check. it would be helpful to see what they need to work on/where they left off.
