Power Goal-Spelling Words

From Sarah Kassens, school admin, at Fremont County School Dist. #24

My school is working really hard on ensuring that kids can spell, not just read, the 1 and 2G power words. We wish that there was a power goal with a similar check off for spelling power words (not a lot of points, but enough that we could give them a point for knowing about half the words and a point for knowing most of the words. It's currently quite labor intensive to keep track of what words kids can spell and share that. Since the power goal states that spelling them (at least most of them) is part of proficiency at this level, making it a separate power goal would be very helpful.

From Leslie Kosanovic, admin, at Bridgeport Exempted Village SD:

A requirement to get into 1G is to read and spell at least 25 1G words. In Schoolpace there is only the chart to mark off for word identification. It would be nice if they could add a spelling portion this requirement. Also, I did not find a place for a hard copy of tracking reading and spelling words.
